Thanksgiving Thankful Snippets

Well, welcome back to my world yet again.

Today is the day after Thanksgiving and a year later in the blog I've decided to take a few lines and mention what I'm thankful for this year.

(1) A warm house complete with a trusting and loveable partner of 14 years. Also the household has two orphaned cats named Clint and Mollicans. Both are very sweet and make the household complete. I'm also thankful to have a roof over my house and food in the freezer and a good friendship with my parents, sisters, and people I've met both on the blog realm and in real life. Life is good.

(2) I am thankful for good health. Even though I still get migraine headaches and I'm even nursing one as I type this entry, my health has been good. Sounds crazy but the highlight of a weekend after a week of work is going for a walk on the dirt road and collecting my thoughts while either looking at the world around me or listening to music. It's quiet and peaceful. At night here you can go outside on a clear evening and see tons of stars. I'm thankful for where I live and also that nobody in the area has decided to put up one of those orange or blue outdoor lights that would taint such an amazing view of the sky.

(3) I am thankful for clothes to wear. A good majority of the clothes, err, shirts I wear come from Goodwill. It's not that I can't afford to purchase clothes at stores but rather I prefer to buy some clothes used and wash them if they are in good shape. I actually have far too many shirts in my closet right now so I will likely take some back to Goodwill and try not to bring back replacements at this point.

(4) I am thankful for a comfortable bed to sleep in at night near a window I can open and breathe in the air of the fall or close it and still be snug below four or five blankets. I even find room for the occasional Clinton who likes to come in and visit in the night and curl up near me under the blankets.

(5) I have no wants or needs this Christmas. Sure I might really like the last season of "Smallville" on DVD but I'm not saying I must have it. I tend to collect things and that's the one season I do not have yet in my possession. But collect as I may I only have the first 10 seasons of the Simpsons before they really started to get not funny and boring. But other than that, I can't think of a thing I need or want or covet that someone else has. That's a good feeling.

(6) I am thankful for bread and peanut butter to eat. It's a staple to me growing up on toast and peanut butter and it's no different now than before. I have three jars of emergency peanut butter from Sam's club when the urge hits. Sound like something else I've heard from Jeremy...

But all in all, it's been a good year. I've learned I have far too much good in my life to complain over what I do not have in my life. So for a moment reflecting back on Thanksgiving, food, family, friends, and life...it's all very good.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving and have a good weekend!!

Sincerely yours, bloggerguy

Sounds like all is well in your world, outside of that headache. That's good.

Hope you didn't eat too much! Glad to hear that you were able to celebrate the holiday at home.

All my best.
