Here are a few random snips in no particular order:
(1) The job in Virginia was short lived. It appears we didn't have enough training before we went up there to do the job so we were sent home and will be given training closer to home. Then we might go back up there again. Personally unless I'm asked to go, I won't volunteer again. The partner and I took a lot of stuff up there...and drove up there and I think the drive again would be a long trek...but I would still enjoy seeing my sister again up there and seeing D.C. again too.
(2) I've been going to bed at 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday nights lately because I have been waking up early in the morning around 5:15 a.m. to go for a sunrise walk with the partner each morning. That's really the hightlight of the day. For those that don't know I live in the country and it's very nice to go walking early in the morning when the darkness is still in the sky and watch the morning sunrise evolve ever so gradually into daybreak and then daylight and then...well, umm...day time!! What is especially nice is the quiet of the morning minus those very very cheerful birds who just seem to wake up with a beautiful song in their mind and who can so cheerful praise the new day each day. I guess I wish I had that spirit...I don't think I'm overly unhappy but I am jealous of the inner happiness of something like a bird. It must be nice to be diluted.
(3) This might be a thought for others. Have you ever seen a doctor to establish yourself once again after having health insurance? I recently wanted to see a doctor to discuss my migraine headaches and get a prescription for a migraine medicine called Relpax that helps me with severe nagging headaches. The particular doctor was one who is a general practitioner who chuckled when I answered his question on the reason for the band aid on my thumb. (I had recently done a good number of nail biting on my thumb and I picked at it until it was sore.) I told him the reason and he laughed and said his vice was overeating. Well, at least the doctor was honest. But the doctor claimed to be a very religious individual and he felt morally wrong to prescribe medicines needed for the long term because of his religious convictions. This type of doctor was one of those doc in a box types I guess known as urgent care where you wait in an office to see the next available doctor. I have an appointment scheduled in October 2011 to see him again to determine if the doctor wants to be my patient or not but I'm going to cancel that appointment today. I think he's an okay doctor but I don't want his religious beliefs making decisions for me on what medicine he thinks I should have, take or use. Yesterday I called a different doctor's office and asked if this particular doctor was "secular". There was a long pause on the phone and the appointment taker asked me what I meant. I explained the whole story and said this is why I am looking for a doctor that can separate religious beliefs from the world of medicine. She said she didn't think I'd have a problem with this doctor and I scheduled an appointment for early next month. We shall see. I might have a wordy blog entry on that one too.
(4) Work is taking shape...but a bit slowly. We have our office...we have our computers and we have our seats. I'm looking forward to doing work. Those in charge have given us busy work but I'd prefer some relevant busy work instead of just stuff to keep us busy. We do have a class next week so that's exciting enough. That too could be a blog entry in itself.
(5) In a search for making friends or seeing what's out in the limited gay community, I downloaded an app on my smart phone to see what's out there and found a program called Grindr. It appears to be a hook up and meet up for hook up type of website but it's one way to see what's going on in the community that is so repressed down here. I collected 25 or so profiles I copied and pasted the messages they are using to "lure" the same sex to chat with them and I am posting them on my next entry. Most make you wonder why this person gets anyone at all to chat them with...there's only one I personally like and I'll post a comment on that one.
(6) The little kitten I discovered a few weeks back lost at the gas station is nowhere to be seen. I can only hope it has found a warm and loving home...I felt so sad for it roaming the streets without any sense of belonging. At times I know we have a lot of human suffering in the world...but I can't also help but feel for animal suffering too. I just couldn't imagine being reincarnated as a stray animal in life and be left to fend for myself with the horrors of the world.
Thanks for stopping by...Aek, might get your opinion on a secular doctor versus a non-secular doctor and which is best for the medical community.
Have a great Friday and a relaxing weekend!!

Grindr is a hook up app. I've been curious about it but not knowing how it displays your location, I have shyed away from downloading it.
Glad the job is still working out for you. Enjoy your busy work because when the real stuff hits you will probably wish you had the busy work and boring days.
Picking a doctor can be a difficult task. I've never had a doctor that had religious convictions about prescribing medicine. What if you needed Eppy to save your life but his religion said don't give it, so you died. I personally would switch to someone more "normal" or secular.
Early morning walks sound nice. I remember those days of getting up at 5:15 but it was to get ready for work. I miss it a little. It brought organization to the day. However, being able to sleep in is nice too! :)
Take care.
That's kind of odd (re: religious doctor). I mean, doctors will give moral reasons for/against doing certain things, like abortions. But insofar as medications, that's a pretty well-grounded science and I don't really understand how religion should play a role in the kinds of medications one prescribes.
There are a lot of Mormon med students/physicians here (curiously) and other religious people in medicine as well. I don't think it makes one a better/worse doctor, usually it's just there. But on issues like abortion, yeah, it can be interesting.
